How we lead

Led by an engineer. Accountable for the outcome.

Stack18 was started by an engineer, and it still thinks like one: understand the problem properly, build what actually solves it, and stay with it until it works.

  • Long-term vision

We make decisions for the company we want to be in ten years, not only the quarter we are in. That is why we built a method, the Agentic SDLC, rather than simply taking on more projects.

  • Engineering-led thinking

Technical depth sits in the room where decisions are made. Architecture, delivery and product choices are argued on evidence, not on seniority.

  • Ownership and accountability

The people who scope the work stand behind it until it ships. Nobody hands a problem to someone else and walks away.

  • AI-first innovation

AI agents do the repetitive work at every stage of delivery, and people set direction and approve what matters. We treat that as the default way of working, not an experiment.

  • Global ambition, built from India

World-class technology does not need a particular postcode. We are building it from Jaipur, for businesses well beyond India.

Founder & leadership

The person who started it, and still leads it.

Stack18 is founder-led, and the company’s direction starts with him.

Founder, Stack18

Prateek Mathur

Prateek founded Stack18 in January 2018 while in his final year of engineering. Over the past eight years, he has built the company into a Global Enterprise Transformation Company, helping businesses embrace technology, modernise operations and drive growth. He leads Stack18 from Jaipur, Rajasthan, with a vision to build and scale globally.

An engineer by training, he built Stack18 around a simple standard: senior people accountable for every outcome, a fixed-price first step, and working software every week. His focus today is making AI-native delivery the default way businesses build, run and modernise their technology.

Leadership philosophy

The way we think shapes what we build.

Five ideas we return to when a decision is hard.

  • Think long-term.

Eight years in, we are still early in what Stack18 can become. We choose the decision that compounds over the one that impresses this quarter, and we are comfortable with that being slower to show.

  • Build with ownership.

Accountability is assigned to people, by name. A fixed-price first step and a working demo every two weeks are not sales devices. They are how we stay answerable for what we promise.

  • Challenge convention.

The Agentic SDLC exists because the standard way of delivering software left too much repetitive work in human hands. When a habit cannot explain itself, we replace it.

  • Stay curious.

What AI makes possible shifts every few months. We test new tools and models before forming opinions about them, and we will rebuild our own method when something better arrives.

  • Make technology meaningful.

A system matters when someone’s work gets easier, a business grows, or a person gets an opportunity they did not have. That is also why Stack18 has a giving initiative, Stack Gives.

Building beyond boundaries

A global company can be built from Jaipur.

Stack18 began in Jaipur in January 2018 and has never left. The city is still home base. What has changed is the size of the ambition: from a first website for a first client to enterprise transformation programmes that run for years.

Building from India has shaped how we work. GST, e-invoicing, UPI, WhatsApp and Indian languages are designed in from day one, because we started with Indian business and learned its complexity first. We believe the habits that cope with that complexity travel well.
