Quick answer

Pipedrive vs Freshsales: the short answer

Pipedrive and Freshsales are two of the most sensible CRM choices for small and mid-size sales teams. Pipedrive is a pipeline-first sales CRM sold per seat in Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate plans, with no permanent free plan. Freshsales, from Freshworks, is sold per user in Free, Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans, with phone, email and chat built in and Freddy AI.

The sources reviewed describe a pipeline-clarity against bundle choice. Pipedrive is praised for its visual pipeline and ease of use, with customisable pipelines on every plan. Freshsales is praised for including a dialer from the free tier and for a free plan for three users, but its real working budget rises to the Pro tier once you need multiple pipelines or sequences.

We compare what independent 2026 sources and the vendors' own pages support and mark the rest Unknown. Pipedrive's plan names changed (older guides call Lite 'Essential'), and sources disagree on which Freshsales plan carries AI contact scoring. No winner is declared: the better fit depends on whether you want a clean pipeline or built-in communication.

All Freshsales plans and sources

At the mid and upper tiers the two cost the same; the difference is at the entry level and in what is bundled. Our arithmetic on reported annual prices for 10 users gives about $1,680 a year on Pipedrive Lite ($14 x 10 x 12) against $1,080 on Freshsales Growth ($9 x 10 x 12). At the mid tier both are $4,680 ($39 x 10 x 12), and at the next tier up Pipedrive Premium and Freshsales Enterprise are both about $7,080 ($59 x 10 x 12).

Freshsales' free plan for three users is the cheapest start, and it includes a dialer. One guide cautions that if you need two pipelines or automated follow-up sequences, your real Freshsales budget is $39 per user, not $9. Pipedrive's lowest plan has no automations, so its real working budget is also usually Growth at $39.

Add-ons change the totals. Freshsales' Copilot at $29 per user adds about $3,480 a year for 10 users ($29 x 10 x 12), and Pipedrive's Campaigns, LeadBooster and top-up packs are priced separately. Prices changed on both sides recently, so confirm current terms.

Considerations

Pipedrive vs Freshsales: implementation, ecosystem, AI and security.

Ease of implementation and usability

We did not test setup or migration for either product. Guides describe Pipedrive as ready to sell with within days and Freshsales as quick for teams that want calls and email in one place. Both offer trials, so import the same ten live deals into each before committing.

Integrations and ecosystem

Freshsales integrates most naturally with other Freshworks products, and guides note a smaller marketplace and fewer integrations on both products compared with larger CRMs. Integration coverage was not independently verified for either, so check the specific tools you use.

AI capabilities

Freshsales lists Freddy AI contact scoring and deal insights, with Copilot and an AI Agent as paid add-ons. Pipedrive lists AI email tools and reports, with a native MCP server mentioned in one listing. Guides lean towards Freshsales for AI included at lower price points. We did not test output quality.

Security, deployment and administration

Freshsales lists field-level permissions, a sandbox and audit logs on Enterprise. Pipedrive reports enforced two-factor authentication on Lite and security rules on Ultimate. We did not review certifications or data residency, so request current security documentation from both vendors.

Strengths and limitations

Pipedrive and Freshsales: each option, in balance.

Pipedrive

Strengths and limitations from the profile

Strengths
  • Per-seat pricing based on users rather than contact volume makes costs predictable for stable teams.
  • The entry plan covers customisable pipelines and deal tracking at a reported low per-seat price.
  • A clear four-plan ladder makes it easy to see where automations and forecasting begin.
Limitations
  • There is no permanent free plan, only a trial.
  • Automations are reported to need the Growth plan or above, so the cheapest plan lacks them.
  • Add-ons such as Campaigns and LeadBooster are priced separately and can raise the total cost.
  • Per-seat pricing means the bill rises with every user added, and geo-pricing makes published figures differ by region.

Freshsales

Strengths and limitations from the profile

Strengths
  • Built-in phone and email from the free tier reduce the need for separate calling tools.
  • A free plan for three users and a low-priced Growth plan make it affordable for startups.
  • Sequences, multiple pipelines and auto-assignment arrive at the mid-priced Pro plan.
  • Enterprise adds custom modules, AI forecasting, a sandbox and field-level permissions.
Limitations
  • The jump from Growth to Pro is steep, and key features such as sequences sit on Pro.
  • Much of the AI is sold as add-ons, so the real cost of AI features can exceed the plan price.
  • Freddy AI Agent is billed per session, which is consumption-based and hard to forecast.
  • Sources disagree on which plan introduces some AI features, so verify the features you need.
