Quick answer

HubSpot vs Zoho CRM: the short answer

HubSpot and Zoho CRM are two of the most compared CRMs for growing businesses. HubSpot is a customer platform with a free CRM and separately priced Hubs, with AI agents billed partly by outcome. Zoho CRM is a per-user CRM sold in Free, Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions, with published prices and AI bundled from the Enterprise edition.

The sources reviewed describe a trade between polish and cost. HubSpot is described as easier to adopt and stronger when marketing, sales and service share data, but its price rises sharply with each tier and with required onboarding on higher plans. Zoho is described as far cheaper and more customisable, with a steeper setup path and a smaller ecosystem for non-Zoho tools.

We compare what independent 2026 sources support and mark the rest Unknown. HubSpot's entry price and some plan limits differ between sources, so we show the ranges. No winner is declared: the better fit depends on budget, customisation needs and whether you will use HubSpot's other Hubs.

Choose HubSpot if you

  • Teams that want a free CRM to start and can budget for onboarding on higher tiers
Choose Zoho CRM if you
  • Budget-conscious teams that want deep customisation per dollar
  • Teams that want AI bundled into the seat price
  • Organisations already using other Zoho applications

All Zoho CRM plans and sources

Zoho is far cheaper at the comparable mid tiers. Our arithmetic on reported annual prices for 25 users gives about $27,000 a year on HubSpot Sales Hub Professional ($90 x 25 x 12), plus the reported $1,500 onboarding for about $28,500 in year one, against $6,900 on Zoho Professional ($23 x 25 x 12), $12,000 on Enterprise ($40 x 25 x 12) and $15,600 on Ultimate ($52 x 25 x 12). Another guide reports a similar ratio of about 4.3 to 1 using HubSpot's monthly price.

HubSpot's entry price is the most contested number. Sources report Starter between $9 and $20 per seat, and a September 2026 guide reports $20 list with a $7 new-customer offer. At $20, 25 seats cost about $6,000 a year; at $9, about $2,700. Ask HubSpot for a written quote.

AI billing now differs in structure. HubSpot's outcome-based pricing means cost scales with resolved conversations and recommended leads, on top of seats. Zoho's Zia is part of the seat price from Enterprise. Model your expected AI volume, because a heavy AI user may find the cost gap narrower or wider than seat prices alone suggest. Considerations

HubSpot vs Zoho CRM: implementation, ecosystem, AI and security.

Ease of implementation and usability

We did not test setup or migration for either product. Guides describe HubSpot as faster for adoption-first teams and Zoho as deeper but with a steeper setup for custom modules and workflows. HubSpot's Professional and Enterprise tiers require paid onboarding, while Zoho offers a 15-day Enterprise trial without a credit card.

Integrations and ecosystem

HubSpot states that Sales Hub integrates with over 1,500 applications. Zoho CRM integrates most naturally with other Zoho products and offers APIs and extensions; one guide cites 2,000 or more extensions, which we could not verify. Check the specific tools you use.

AI capabilities

HubSpot's Breeze assistant and agents cover prospecting, support and data tasks, with outcome-based billing for agents from April 2026. Zoho's Zia covers predictive scoring, agents and generative CRM setup, bundled from Enterprise. One guide calls Zoho's predictions deeper and HubSpot's content tools broader. Output quality was not tested here.

Security, deployment and administration

Zoho lists sandbox testing, field encryption and approval workflows on Enterprise and a larger limit set on Ultimate. HubSpot's governance features rise with tier, with custom objects on Enterprise. We did not review certifications or data residency, so request current security documentation from both vendors.

Strengths and limitations

HubSpot and Zoho CRM: each option, in balance.

HubSpot

Strengths and limitations from the profile

Strengths
  • A free tier with no onboarding fee gives teams a low-risk place to start.
  • One platform covers CRM plus sales, marketing, service and other Hubs on shared customer data.
  • HubSpot documents a clear tier ladder with stated limits for pipelines, workflows, reports and calling minutes.
  • AI tools are included in the free plan and paid Sales Hub tiers, according to HubSpot's guide.
Limitations
  • Professional and Enterprise carry one-time onboarding fees of $1,500 and $3,500 on top of seat prices.
  • Custom objects are limited to Sales Hub Enterprise, which matters for teams with non-standard data models.
  • The free tier is limited to two users, includes HubSpot branding, and has no automation or sequences.
  • Costs rise when seat counts grow or other Hubs are added, because each Hub is priced separately.

Zoho CRM

Strengths and limitations from the profile

Strengths
  • A permanent free edition for up to three users lets very small teams start without a trial deadline.
  • Entry paid pricing is reported among the lowest for a full sales CRM, with unlock points clearly tied to editions.
  • Each edition adds specific named capabilities, which makes it easier to see what an upgrade buys.
  • Zia AI and custom modules are available on Enterprise, giving a path to AI and customisation without leaving the product.
Limitations
  • Per-user prices are only part of the cost: sources point to add-ons, storage, phone and configuration time.
  • Month-to-month billing is reported to cost noticeably more than annual billing.
  • Key capabilities such as Blueprint and Zia AI sit on higher editions, so choosing too low an edition can force a mid-year upgrade.
  • Sources disagree on some edition details, such as trial length and where territory management starts, so verify the features you need.

Switching

Switching between HubSpot and Zoho CRM.

Moving between HubSpot and Zoho CRM means exporting contacts, companies, deals and activity history, mapping properties to custom fields or modules, and rebuilding workflows, which do not transfer. Run one team on the new CRM for a full sales cycle before retiring the old one.
