Notion vs Slite: the short answer
Notion and Slite both let teams write and organise company knowledge, but they aim at different jobs. Notion is a flexible all-in-one workspace with docs, wikis and relational databases, sold per member from a free plan. Slite is a focused knowledge base built around verified documentation and AI answers, sold per member in Basic, Pro and Enterprise plans with no permanent free plan.
The sources reviewed describe the choice as breadth against focus. Notion is described as the more flexible product for teams that also want projects and databases in the same place. Slite is described as the cleaner, more maintainable option for a company-wide knowledge base, with doc verification and a Slite Agent that launched in June 2026, and lower SSO entry cost.
We compare what Slite's own pricing pages and independent 2026 sources support and mark the rest Unknown. Several sources are competitors of both products or published by Slite itself, so we treat their opinions as such. Older guides show Slite's earlier $8 and $20 plan names and Notion's pre-May 2025 AI packaging, so we use current figures. No winner is declared.

All Slite plans and sourcesThe two are close at the entry tier and Notion is cheaper at the upper tier. Our arithmetic on reported annual prices for 25 members gives about $3,000 a year on Notion Plus at $10 ($10 x 25 x 12) and on Slite Basic ($10 x 25 x 12). At the upper tier Notion Business at $18 is about $5,400 ($18 x 25 x 12) against $6,000 on Slite Pro ($20 x 25 x 12). Sources report Notion Business as high as $24, which would make it about $7,200.
A free start favours Notion: its free plan has no expiry, while Slite offers only a 14-day trial. For a team that only needs a knowledge base with AI answers, Slite's lower entry tier carries Ask AI with monthly limits, while Notion's full AI sits on Business. Compare allowances rather than plan names.
Older guides still list Slite at $8 and $20 and describe unlimited Ask AI on its entry plan, which does not match Slite's current published plans, so check the date on any comparison. Notion's AI packaging changed in May 2025. Confirm current terms with both vendors.

Notion vs Slite: implementation, ecosystem, AI and security.
Ease of implementation and usability
We did not test setup or migration for either product. Guides describe Slite as a lighter tool that non-technical teams adopt quickly, and Notion as needing design effort for databases and templates. Pilot one team's real documentation and one knowledge-base search scenario in each.
Integrations and ecosystem
Slite lists search across connected tools on Pro and API and MCP access on Basic. Notion integrates with common business tools and its own API. Integration depth was not independently verified for either product, so check the specific tools you use.
AI capabilities
Slite's AI centres on Ask AI answering questions from your docs with sources, and a Slite Agent launched in June 2026 that helps keep the knowledge base current. Notion bundles full AI into Business, with agent credits for heavier use. One guide describes Slite's AI features as increasingly standard, with Notion and others offering similar or better. We did not test output quality.
Security, deployment and administration
Slite lists OpenID SSO on Pro and SCIM, audit logs and an SLA on Enterprise. Notion's Business and Enterprise plans add administrative controls such as SCIM and audit logs per one guide. We did not review certifications or data residency, so request current security documentation from both vendors.
Notion and Slite: each option, in balance.
Notion
Strengths and limitations from the profile
- A free plan and free guests make it easy for individuals and small teams to start.
- Full Notion AI is reported as bundled into Business, rather than a separate add-on.
- Flexible docs, wikis and databases suit teams that want a wiki with a light project layer.
- Every editor is a billed member, so seat counts can grow quickly.
- Free and Plus include only a limited AI trial, so meaningful AI use needs Business or above.
- Guides disagree on prices and on how AI is bundled, so budgeting needs a check of the current page.
- Some guides note that flexible databases are lighter than purpose-built project tools for heavy operations.
Slite
Strengths and limitations from the profile
- Ask AI search and answers, doc verification and the Knowledge Management Panel are included from the Basic plan.
- A public API and MCP access are available on every plan.
- SOC 2 Type II compliance and automatic backups are listed on every plan.
- A 14-day free trial with no credit card lets teams try Basic and Pro before paying.
- There is no permanent free plan on the current pricing page.
- AI use is metered: 30 monthly questions and 30 AI edits per seat on Basic, and 50 credits per seat for the agent on Pro.
- Single sign-on needs Pro, and SCIM, audit logs and an SLA need Enterprise.
- Older guides quote earlier prices, so published comparisons may not match the current plans.
